While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Planning a wedding
Hi!
So me and my husband got married before he started "A" school in the courthouse...But we are trying to plan a big wedding back home. The only problem is that he is in CTR school and they wont get their orders of their duty station or if they are getting "c" school until possibly a week or so before he graduates.. Of course, i am getting wedding insurance so get refunded for everytting if he cant get home
But i am wondering... If his graduation is a friday... do they pay for their flight home for their 10 day leave? Can they pick their own flight..i wanted to know if i could fly him out the same day and have our wedding the next day.
Also, since sometimes there is hold between a and c school and if we find out last minute he is getting c school... do you think it is possible for him to come home after his graduation...even just for the weekend..for the graduation?

They won't let him go anywhere if he is on hold for orders. The reason is if the orders come in, they come in fast and he has to hit the road. He might be able to get permission to fly home for graduation weekend, however, he has to ask his COC and submit a special request chit for an out of bounds liberty weekend. It might be approved.
The Navy does not fly him home for his leave. What they do is pay to send him to his next command or school, then he contacts the travel office and SATO rearranges the flights. He pays for the leg home. He cannot pick his own flight in conjunction with the military travel.
At least you're getting the insurance! Best of luck.
