For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Simply Confused
Hi everyone! I'm new to the site and have questions like everyone else! My boyfriend left for boot camp last month and his PIR is very soon!!! He is reporting to A school in Great Lakes afterwards. He has asked whether he can have his phone during A school and the officers said it depends on what A school he's in. He's going for diesel, engine man. Does anyone know if they can use their phones in this specific A school? If anyone could help, that'd be amazing, thank you! I'm Ashley by the way!

He can have his phone, computer, small TV, basically anything of that nature. He can't take it to class with him but when you take him back Friday night he can have his phone! :)

They get Friday evening after they have checked into the school side of base, then Saturday and Sunday. No overnights, there is a curfew.

My husband just had PIR and he is attending A school in Great Lakes. My daughter and I got to spend Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with him. Just not overnight. We had to bring him back every night before ten. After a few weeks in A school. He should phase up, and then when we come and visit he will be able to stay over night.
