My Husband left for boot camp six days ago. I missed the phone call where he was supposed to tell me that he arrived because it was at 1:26 AM and I wasnt expecting it :/ The first few days i was an absolute miserable wreck. I quickly learned that it helps to be around my friends. I guess I was just wondering if looking back later will the time go by fast? It seems like the clock ticks slower and slower everyday. Also, since we're married we will be living in Chicago for two years for his schooling, but I read on here somewhere someone saying she cant live with her husband on base??

Can we live together on base too? Thank God it'll speed up.
Married students can live with their spouses, either in base housing (technically near the base, not behind the gates) or in a rental paid for by BAH. However, they must go through the liberty phases just like the unmarried guys, must request permission to live off base, and can lose the privilege if they are late or fall behind in school. Don't worry, they will be given all this information during indoc after boot camp and before school begins.
Thank you for your response! Its nice to have someone you understands all of this. Ive been reading and looking into a lot of stuff cause I dont want to be one of those wives who has no interest in whats going on in her sailor's life. Im learning :)
