Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hello, I was just wondering if anybody had any info on this rate. My husband graduates in January and I was just wondering if it was likely I would be able to move with him while he is in A-school? I was also wondering of the location? Any other info or advice would be very much appreciated.

The school is in Groton, CT, and will be over a year long. That will be long enough for you to move there.

I will be almost 7 months pregnant when he graduates and wish to stay in my home town till the baby is born. Will that affect me being able to move with him?

It should be alright. He should let his school kow when he checks in, and they'll tell him how to get things set up. He will need to be proactive about it, stay on top of things.
Also, within a year of the baby's birth, he will get ten days of paternity leave. He'll need to talk to the school about when he can take that.

Are they allowed to take the ten days while they are in school or do they typically have to wait till school is finished? How does the paternity leave work?

It is ten days of "non-chargeable" leave, which means free days. He can't take it while class is in session, but if he experiences hold time, the school MIGHT let him use it then. He can use it after school also, instead of his earned leave days, or if he;s there long enough (and he probably will be), he can use it during the holiday stand down instead of his earned leave. It can be split up, he doesn't need to use it in one chunk. How he can use it will be up to his school, so he needs to find out during indoc.

My husband is in this rate. There are 3 classes he could get chosen for. FT, ET, or STS. Each of them require a four week sub school in groton CT after basic. Then once sub school is completed he will start school for one of the three divisions in his rating. Et has the shortest school and you may not have to move with him until he PCS's to his first duty station. People say if they score well on tests and hit excellent in PT that they have a chance to choose which class they want but it is ultimately up to the needs of the navy and what type of submarine he will be working on (fast attack or boomer) I have done nothing but research since my husband is gone so hopefully this helped. :-)

yes maam. Many will have their phones after leaving great lakes and can call and text almost daily. Maybe not the first few days but those days after
