OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

What should I do about getting married?
I've read through the other marriage threads, but I wanted to put my own personal situation out here.
I pushed my fiance to get married before he left, but he blindly followed the recruiter's advice that it would be "more complicated" and could "set him back' and all that. Because of it, I'm squeaking by on money, and that BAH would've helped a lot... -sigh- Well!!! I want to get married after PIR, but I keep reading things that say that won't happen... then I read things that say it could... then I read others that make me cry. I don't know what to believe, and I don't know what to do. He is supposed to be going for Nukes and I want to be able to move with him as soon as possible. I want him to be able to see his 5 month old daughter, you know? This young is the fastest they grow up, and I don't want him to miss it!
Well, is it hopeful that we could get married after PIR? If he doesn't get nukes for some reason and ends up stationed in GL, would that make it impossible to get married?
I have so many questions and I"m so confused. I've known nothing about the military or what is going on, and my fiance just believed everything his recruiter told him. :( Please help me...

It is very easy to get married while he is in A school Me and my husband just got married last month, he is stationed in GL. This may be a strict base but it is possible. you may not get your dream wedding but you can get it done in the court house and its very simple. and the BAH starts almost immediately. Although since you were not on his orders when he left for bootcamp they wont pay for you to move until he gets his next orders. Just make sure that he goes through all the steps he has to or he will be in trouble. Some people do slip through the cracks but it is very difficult. As long as he fills out the chit and gets permission your good to go good luck on the wedding and hold in there it will get easier if you ever need someone to talk about anything =) just hit me up. because I was just in your shoes

He should have resigned enlistment papers before leaving for bootcamp if he was excepted in to Nuke

So im in the same boat here but my sailor is not going to nuke school .. His PiR is 6/3 and we want to get married ASAP .. help

Nathan's Girlfriend- If you want to get married ASAP, he needs to talk to his SLPO about it as soon as he gets down to Charleston. If he's persistent about it, then he can get it arranged so you can get married within a few days and a house almost immediately. I recently talked to a girl who flew down the Wednesday after PIR, (Like, yesterday), and they moved into their house on base today. It can be done extremely quickly.

Thank you so much for that message! If it can go so quickly, I won't let myself worry so much right now. I'll keep asking what he's definitely going into though. I don't know what he signed up for, but hopefully in his next letter he'll let me know.

His a school is in pensacola ... So it wont take months ? They will give him the time out to do it ?

No, they will not give him time off to marry. He must submit the chit and go through whatever they require (it seems to change school to school). You will have to go to him, on a weekend he doesn't have duty, and make time after school and on a Saturday to get it done. He won't be able to stay off base until he earns his phase two liberty. That can take a few weeks.
Getting married at the courthouse in P-cola is fairly easy, it is somewhere in one of these discussions, and you can find it with google, just look up the county clerk information for whatever county the base is in. (I'd have to google it myself, I don't have it bookmarked). I've done it a few times, so I know the info is online. Go for it.

Ok so once he gets to p-cola I tell him to put in (chit) and then he will tell me frm there when to go ?? How long til he gets his weekend out but must return at night ?? Wat time can he leave on fridays ? And there is places that can marry us on a sat. ?? Sorry so many questions ..

He will be told his curfew time and what time the work/school day ends when he checks in and goes through indoc. He'll find out the liberty phase timeline then, and how long it should take him to earn his privileges. Others may be able to tell you their experiences, but dont take that for hours set in stone.
Yes, there are Saturday places. No I don't know where they are. I know you're smart and motivated enough to find it on google. Start searching in case no one with the info checks in here soon. -

Sorry- I'm just familiar with Nuke rules. Other places it will probably take longer- The Nuke base tends to be a lil faster with the marriage/housing stuff. Sorry!
