Hey ladies! My sailor is graduating this Saturday (February 1st) and I am beyond excited! I have no idea what to expect though!! What do I wear? Am I allowed to kiss him? How long each day do we have with him? What's the ceremony going to be like? Any experiences you can share or any info you have would be wonderful! Thank you!! :)

P.S. He is staying in Great Lakes for a school, so we will have the weekend with him.

after you go through all this will you let me know how it was and possibly answer all the questions you asked?

Definitely!! :)
Hi Shannon! Well I just got back from my trip to Great Lakes yesterday. It was truly one of the bet experiences I've ever had :) I would suggest going to the ceremony early, especially if there are a lot of divisions graduating. There are a TON of people there. All the seats make it easy to see though! :) I think doors open at 6:30. Then, you have to wait for the ceremony to start at 9. It takes about an hour and a half to two hours depending on the size of the class. Then, they will say sailors, you are now on liberty!!! And the hall turns into a mad house! That's when you run down and give him a hug for the first time! No big French kiss though haha! Just a peck. And no holding hands. You can hold on to his arm though, like he's escorting you. It depends on what time your sailor has to be back to base for what you can do. He will know. And of he doesn't, I would leave him there so he's not late to catch the bus to a school. That's a big no no. But then over the weekend, I'm pretty sure liberty is 0600 to 2200! So you get a lot of time with him! But make sure he's back early! Around 21-2130 (learn military time, that's all he'll be using). It is freezing there! There isn't a ton of walking, but I would definitely not wear a skirt or dress you will FREEZE. I wore leggings and a sweater. The whole weekend truly was a great experience and you will be so proud. It's his weekend, so do what he wants! Good luck, and savor every moment you have with him! Good luck girl! :))
I just read this. And I cried I'm so excited. He doesn't graduate till the 22nd of march but hopefully the time will fly by, lol im glad you warned me it was cold cause I totally bought a skirt for his graduation. Do you think me and him will have time to get married before he goes to aschool not like a big extravagent wedding just to sign the papers?

I'm in the same boat, my fiance graduates March 22! I'm so excited!!! :)

Hey sydney :) is graduating from the great lakes?
He's ship 11 div 126. You should text me girl. Considering we are deff. In the same boat. My number is 12709800030 :) ill more than likely be up all night like always. So text me whenever :)
What div is he in? And ship? Our fiances might know each other!
Yes, he left last Monday and I'm already ready for this to be over with! Lol eight weeks has never seemed so long!
He's on ship 13 div 127.. What about yours??
Okay:)

Wear something warm,in layers, which will look nice in pictures next to his dress uniform.  You don't have to get dressy, but something nice enough for church or an interview.  Not club wear or anything too sexy.

You can hug and kiss him immediately after the ceremony, but during the weekend, not in public, no hand holding.  He may take you on his left arm, but no snugglebunny stuff.  They'll tell him what is expected.

After the ceremony, he'll go over to his barracks on the A school side and check in.  That will take a few hours.  Then he can have the evening with you, be sure he is back early before his curfew, he'll need time to head back.  He should have all day Saturday and Sunday, with a curfew each evening.
