Hi everyone! So I am completely new to this site and I am just trying to prepare myself for when my boyfriend joins the Navy. He is signing in May and it feels like it just keeps getting sooner and sooner. He still has to finish school after he joins so he will probably not leave for boot camp for hopefully another year. He is so excited and I want to make the day he signs very special for him. I want to get him a gift but guys are so hard to get gifts for. I know this is a stupid question but does anyone have any suggestions as to what you would get somebody for signing for the Navy? I want the day that it all becomes official to be really special because it is the day his dreams come true. I am trying to think of something unique but I'm stuck. So any suggestions would be incredibly helpful! Thank you all so much!

This is not stupid. Some people join and they aren't that excited. But since he is excited and you said his dreams are coming true, it's really sweet of you to get him something. Maybe you should just take him out to dinner? Or make him something that let's him know that he has your full support!? If you want to buy him something maybe something that relates to the navy? You could even get him a congratulations card and that would probably make him happy knowing your in this with him. :) good luck!
I got my fiancé a scrapbook when he graduated. That way you all can write down every stepping stone he overcome. Examples: signing day, last signing day, airport goodbyes, basic letters, basic graduation, deployments..ect
Just a cool thought that I did!

The scrapbook is a great idea to organize all those memories but I think that depends on your guy if you want his contribution lol  What about a Navy insignia watch?  They have some really nice ones in every price range.
