My sailor left on October 2nd so its only been a week, but it's already driving me crazy and i check the mail everyday, hoping to get something, and knowing i probably wont, at the same time. I support him 100% but its harder than what i thought and i guess hearing from him would help a little. Does anyone know how long it takes for the form with their information to arrive? i want to start writing to him as soon as possible. He is suppose to finish boot camp around the first week of December, does that mean he gets to come home and be here til Christmas, or does he go straight to A school?

I know how you're feeling. My fiance left on September 26th, and while his box and form letter have both come, there's been nothing from him directly. It's a lot harder than I thought it was going to be too, but remember - we love our recruits, and they love us too! The letters, and maybe phone calls, will come in time. It's all about being patient, which can be so hard, but we can do it!

I hope so and yes we love them that's why we're supporting them! thank you i know we'll get through this

Even though you haven't heard from him yet, be sure to write him and send him letters anyways. He's only been there a week so he's probably still going through P days (processing days).. I didn't hear from my boyfriend until about two weeks in. He was there Aug 7th and the first letter I got was on Aug 24th. It will be nice for him to already have letters from you especially after going through the first week or two, I heard that was the worst part. I made the mistake of not writing until I heard from him first. Your letters will mean the absolute world to him and he will be looking forward to when the mail comes every single day he's there. I caught on to that pretty quick, thankfully, and ended up sending him a letter every single day. They are limited on when they get to send mail though, for my bf it was Sundays and Tuesdays which meant the letters didn't get to me until later in the week, mainly Fridays. Later on in BC he should get an extra day to send mail, my bf did at least. So I'll keep my fingers crossed he'll get an extra day too!  But they  GET mail EVERY day, so write him until your hand cramps! He'll love you for it, I promise!

thank you so much for the advice, it just made me feel so much better and as soon as i get his address ill start writing to him everyday

I got the box and form letter rather quickly. Actually, I got it the same week he left! He left on a Monday (Sept17) and I got the box by Wednesday, and the form letter by Saturday! He was a late addition to his div though. So it really depends. I would say by the second week for sure you should get the form letter.

I started getting his letters on the 20th day he was gone. At first he said he could only send out letters on Sundays but receive mail every day (if the div wasn't acting up). Then in his last letter he said he could write AND send letters every day (if the time allows of course)!! So I've been getting letters on random days. I got a letter last Saturday, then this last Tuesday as well. I'm hoping to get something today :)

So, it really depends on his division and if they're doing what they're supposed to do. My SR's division didn't receive mail one night because they were being too loud. Allows be patient!! Trust me, he's probably writing you as much as he can and when you get the first batch of letters it's going to help A LOT. Just keep writing him because he's just as anxious as you to hear from you! ;)

i haven't gotten anything:-/ but its barely the 1st week going on 2nd so i hope i get it as soon as you did, i sure will try to write as soon as possible, thank you! and i hope he misses me as much as i miss him

I got my form letter on the second week after he left - once you get that, you'll have his address to send letters out to him and know right away when to expect him to graduate. Write a letter to him every day! Trust me! They live for it. As of right now I'm in my 5th week of boot camp with my fiance. You should start seeing his letters in the 3rd week - as for a 2nd phone call, mine came towards the end of the 4th week. You just have to get through the first 2 weeks, once you do...things will slowly start to get easier. I was in the same boat - I still kinda am. I still have 28 more days till my fiance graduates. He sends me letters each week though. Good luck! It's a tough 8 weeks, but it def gets better...I promise you!

Juliette is right! It gets better! I thought those 8 weeks were never going to end, but I promise you once you start to get letters from him regularly it makes it go by much faster, because you're looking forward to the next one. And I'm hoping you're all planning on going to the graduation! Beware, its COLD! I was there this past weekend, and the weather just started to cool down. So by the time you make the trip, be prepared. It took about an hour or so waiting in line, OUTSIDE, to finally get inside and check in. I of course wanted to look good for him since we hadn't seen each other so I wore heels, and a dress, and the only coat I had was a blazer. DON'T make the same mistake. He'll think you're the most beautiful girl there no matter what you're wearing haha. And trust me, seeing him for the first time in his uniform is going to be the proudest moment of your life, and it justifies every day you spent apart. Especially because you get to see how proud he is for making it through bootcamp!

Good luck to all of you! Hang in there, and be PATIENT!

awww i wanted to wear my heels too lol there's these boots that he really liked for me but i wasnt so sure, but now i like them and i wanted to wear em'....what did your graduation fall on? do you fly there by urself, and how much time did you get to spend with him?

I actually just bought a dress for my fiance's graduation - it's a bit on the short side, but I plan to wear warm stockings or leggings to keep from freezing. Also, it's a sweater dress, so that should help as well. I really want to wear this dress, although I know it will be cold, because I know how much he'll love it. I want to knock his socks off after eight long weeks apart! :)

I second ProudNavyGirlfriend on the questions - how was it, seeing your boyfriend (or fiance?) after so much time? How much had he changed? I'm eager for any advice/information anyone who has been through this can answer, haha.

i guess i'll be getting mine in about 2 weeks or so too since i've got one week down, i cant wait!
