Hi All. I'm hoping to get some help from some of you knowledgeable Navy moms and wives. My husband recently transitioned from RC to AC. He had an under 30-days TDI - then PCS to join his unit on the same base immediately following his training. During his training for deployment (TDI) he was required to live alone in the barracks. Now, he is unaccompanied OCONUS TDY through the summer. Our BAH was changed from our home rate to his new PDS rate, which is considerably lower. Since his training and PCS where both under 30-days and he unaccompanied TDY'd right after, we didn't have enough time to PCS with him. In fact, there was no accommodation, instruction, DLA, TLA given for for us to PCS with him. My husband has tried to talk to command at both his PDS and TDY, but they refuse to deal with it. The new rate is less than 1/3 of our rent and we are now my daughter and I are in danger of losing our home. My question is: Shouldn't we be able to retain our home BAH rate until he returns to his PDS (where we will join him)? Who should I talk to about readjusting it and getting our back BAH? Thanks in advance. And, what PCS benefits should we have received?

Thanks so much for your reply. We're definitely getting the runaround. It's a shame they can't even follow their own rules. We should have had at least 30-days notice to relocate with him - we didn't even get 48-hours. It's going to be an uphill battle - but I am determined. How did you even get as far as legal? Command keeps telling DH not to bother filing because it's never going to happen. They won't even look at the paperwork - smh.
