I'm a Navy Wife and I created this group back when I was a girlfriend and my now husband had gone to bootcamp. Its funny because i joined this website when they had under 50 members. This website has been sooooo helpful and I met so many people on here that gave great advice. I made this group so that we could all come together and give eachother advice and share ideas. I see that this group is growing more and more by the day, Im happy to see that because so many wives/fiances/and girlfriends are clueless when it comes the military lifestyle. Not knowing what to expect and not knowing about deployments, bootcamp, duty stations, etc. I want this to be the place you all recommend because so many people on this site are knowledgeable and very helpful. Once again thanks for joining my group and i hope you get all the information you need. I dont get to log on as much as i used to but i try my best to get on here. So if u have any questions feel free to make a discussion topic and Im positive that it will get answered if not, inbox me :-) Take Care ♥

Congrats Soalex !! Hi ladies I havent been on for awhile, but I have some exciting news we my sailor and I finally got married . We went through all the steps as soon as he hit phase 2 we decided what weekend we wanted to get married because he had to fill out the chit and the date has to be on there and then the wait he had to talk to the Chaplin and to the Chief for the okay. I looked up all the info for the marriage licence and all went well .I am now a offical navywife.

I'm no longer a girlfriend :) I'm a FIANCE!!!

Oh well we'll actually be married by that time (doing the courthouse thing the day after I get there during his liberty weekend, bigger ceremony / reception planned for August) ... so I'm thinking if we show the papers that we are married it might be different? I'm staying for like 10 days so by then the paperwork should have time to process and whatnot. Don't you think? And thanks for all your help by the way :]

I meant a train station you can take the bus to then walk to the gate at GL
Comment by Cassandra Rose on April 13, 2010 at 12:04am
Great Lakes... I heard there's a train station nearby you can park at and walk to the visitor center at the gate and if he meets me I can come on base? And vice versa if I picked him up in a taxi? But I just don't want to get there and have the rules be different and be screwed over...

Navy gurl- my fiance is only 20 as well so I don't think that'd help :[ What are the restrictions of going onto base? Can I take a taxi and get dropped off there and walk onto base if he meets me at the gate? / Can I pick him up and take him in a taxi at the front gate? How does that work?
Comment by Stephanie( Mrs. Davis) on April 12, 2010 at 8:16pm
I couldn't find a rental car that allowed anyone under 21. I found information on shuttles from the airport and to the base for graduation. Taxis aren't that much and there is a train that you can go on to get around and see the sights.

Hey girls! I'm running into a bit of a problem and I'm wondering if anyone could help with any info....

I'm visiting my fiance in A School for a week and am running into HUGE issues with car rental companies because of me being under 25 (I'm only 20). But I'm assuming I'll need a car to pick him up off of base right since he's not allowed to drive? Are there any buses that are near to the base that we could use instead of renting a car or would I physically need to drive to the gates to get him/ go onto base even if he meets me at the gate? If I do need a car does anyone know of any rental companies that don't charge MAD fees for drivers my age?

Sorry, I know it's a lot of questions. Thanks ladies!
