I'm a Navy Wife and I created this group back when I was a girlfriend and my now husband had gone to bootcamp. Its funny because i joined this website when they had under 50 members. This website has been sooooo helpful and I met so many people on here that gave great advice. I made this group so that we could all come together and give eachother advice and share ideas. I see that this group is growing more and more by the day, Im happy to see that because so many wives/fiances/and girlfriends are clueless when it comes the military lifestyle. Not knowing what to expect and not knowing about deployments, bootcamp, duty stations, etc. I want this to be the place you all recommend because so many people on this site are knowledgeable and very helpful. Once again thanks for joining my group and i hope you get all the information you need. I dont get to log on as much as i used to but i try my best to get on here. So if u have any questions feel free to make a discussion topic and Im positive that it will get answered if not, inbox me :-) Take Care ♥

anna mac: does this person who tells you that have a significant other? If he/she does ask them to stand in your shoes. Would they love not seeing each other for 8 weeks at a time? Would they like not being able to pick up the phone and call them for that time? Would they enjoy not having their significant other be able to make phone calls to them to tell them about their day? Yes, it really is that bad- it certainly isn't fun that's for sure. If they don't have a bf/gf then I would try to explain that it's like not being able to communicate AT ALL (other than you writing them letters) with your best friend for 2 months straight. Either way you look at it, it sucks. Some people won't understand the level of suckage though haha. With some people you're never gonna win, you just have to accept that they will never be able to fully support you in your times of need and move on with your chin up.

I got the SAILOR call today!!!! Im one VERY proud gf!

Welcome to the new ladies on this site. Stay strong and i find ALOT of support here on this site. I dont kno what i woulda done without it. I have learned so much through ths process im so glad BC is almost over and i get to see him on friday. BUt this is just the beggining there is still so much more to come and so much i have to learn. Write as much as you can to your recruits they love getting mail and its sad when they dont get anything at mail call. The phone calls are AMAZING and help you get through things they give you that strength you need to keep going. I went over 4 weeks without talkin to him because they lost a call and hearing from him was such a surprise. I know this is all worth it though. I love him MORE now then i did before and it just keeps getting better.

Lauren, I am definitely going to check that song out.. not that I need anything else to make me cry right now. I do pretty good with that at any random moment!! haha You are right though.. they do help to get through.. I don't know why.
CCswifey, welcome!! You'll find lots of great women here to help you through this. Stay strong!

Thanks Lauren --- I just checked the mail and got the form letter in, and come to find out, his graduation date is a week earlier than what our recruiter told us.. That's ALWAYS a plus! One week behind me that I didn't have to go through! Thank GOD!!!! He wrote a litle note at the bottom of the letter, and it literally made my heart stop, just to see his handwriting.. Gosh, I can't wait to get my hands on that man again!!! :0)

Lauren- I downloaded that song Best Thing after you posted it on Songs to our sailors Awsome song i love it i listen too it all the time now. I just cried on my way home while listening to I can Wait Forever by Simple Plan. There are so many songs we can relate to.

So, I'm new to this site, and to the military ( go figure ) My husband left for BC 3/22, and I will tell you the truth, this is the HARDEST thing I've ever done in my life. I have cried everyday since he's left. It's just the fact of not knowing what he's doing, and how he's doing, that kills me. He went in with a seal contract, so we've got a long road ahead of us, but I am SO proud of him, and I can't wait to get the first "real" phone call and letter from him. I miss him so much it makes me sick. We've been together 8 years, and this is the first time I've been without him... We have a 3 yr old daughter, so it makes things harder ( for me ) especially when she asks about him.. I'm ready to get my arms around him again, it just seems like it's taking forever!

AWWWW. Im the same way. There are alot of songs that get to me. One of the main ones is that one by 3 doors down my bf dedicated it to me right before he left. Its funny how little things like songs can make us cry
