For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

My husband drew me once....I looked like a potato with stick hands and legs. It was to make up for when I drew him as a sailor penguin....it made me smile.

To use up any "extra" space on my letters to my husband I would draw quick pictures (I am a cross stitcher...so simple drawings). Either to illustrate something I wrote about or something the two of us would understand. He sometimes would even draw something back to me!

I been really crafty too lol. They sell blank cards at craft stores they come with envelopes and all. You can buy stickers and write your own messages in them. I also cut out letters from magazines to say something cute and stuck them on the card. They sell really cool navy stickers atleast at Michaels they do. I also try to draw things for him even if its just stick figures cause i suck at drawing.

i made a paper chain, onw chain for everyday of bootcamp, every day that passes i put on a smiley face sticker so i can see the time passed and what it left :)

anna- your in my thoughts and prayers! It is hard but will get easier with time, you will find ways to cope, i wrote every night and made cards to feel closer to my boyfriend. Keeping busy is a must in my opinion. I also sleep with a picture every night :) good luck, feel free to message me if you ever need to vent or talk!
