I'm a Navy Wife and I created this group back when I was a girlfriend and my now husband had gone to bootcamp. Its funny because i joined this website when they had under 50 members. This website has been sooooo helpful and I met so many people on here that gave great advice. I made this group so that we could all come together and give eachother advice and share ideas. I see that this group is growing more and more by the day, Im happy to see that because so many wives/fiances/and girlfriends are clueless when it comes the military lifestyle. Not knowing what to expect and not knowing about deployments, bootcamp, duty stations, etc. I want this to be the place you all recommend because so many people on this site are knowledgeable and very helpful. Once again thanks for joining my group and i hope you get all the information you need. I dont get to log on as much as i used to but i try my best to get on here. So if u have any questions feel free to make a discussion topic and Im positive that it will get answered if not, inbox me :-) Take Care ♥

Nice to meet you Jenny! Do you have any suggestions for some nice places to live around Norfolk area? My fiance will actually be in Oceania but I am going to go to school at Norfolk so we were thinking somewhere in between..

Marking off a calendar for kids, well, you have to be careful. We all know the Navy can change things up, so any set date can change. I've heard of making paper chains, a link each day, then use them to decorate for homecoming.

Get pictures of Daddy in every uniform he has... I threw a fit when dad came home and was a chief in Khakis instead of in his crackerjacks which he wore when he left on deployment! I was so little I don't recall that now, but mom always told me the story. I don't know what mom did, but I know I hung on my brothers until they got sick of me!

Hey,
So I'm new to the site and also to the Navy wife thing. My husband left at the beginning of the month, and I'm trying really hard to keep my head up but it's harder than I thought it was gonna be. Any advice about what to tell my two year old who is looking around and asking for her daddy? I have been telling her that daddy's at work, but now when I leave her with the baby sitter and tell her I"m going to work we have a big break down. He doesn't graduate until the end of April so we still have about 6 weeks to go and my poor little girl is so confused..
Thanks for listening and any advice is greatly appreciated.

And like your license, your picture is guaranteed to be as bad as humanly possible.

Just remember, most of the Navy women are professionals, and wouldn't dream of hitting on a married guy. Sure, there's a few bad ones, but that's the same anywhere. And sometimes a girl is just friendly, and the guy instantly thinks she's hitting on him! I know that feeling pretty well. You just have to trust him, the same way he trusts you. You can do this!

As said in a previous post.. if a man is going to cheat it doenst matter if hes military or civilian.. if he wants to do it hes going to do it nothing anyone can do to stop him.. but being a navy wife u need to have all the trust and support in the world for your sailor... Me and my fiance have been together for a whle now and there are plenty of girls that hit on him in port... and he tells them hes engaged.. if they keep it up he simply stops talking to them.... its as simple as that.... you need to have all the trust u can for your sailor.. 9 times out of 10 if u are worried about it and they know that then they are probably going to think the same thing whle they are away from u.... and u wouldnt cheat on your man right?! if they love u as much as u love them then u need to realize "hey i wouldnt cheat bc i love him" and think that if he loves u as much as u love him then he's thinking the same exact thing.. if u are worried about it while hes gone then its just going to make him worry that u cant handle it and that u are doing it back home... trust your man and trust that he knows when to set those other girls straight and that he has his values and family at heart at all times as im sure you do. :)
