DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

I'm a Navy Wife and I created this group back when I was a girlfriend and my now husband had gone to bootcamp. Its funny because i joined this website when they had under 50 members. This website has been sooooo helpful and I met so many people on here that gave great advice. I made this group so that we could all come together and give eachother advice and share ideas. I see that this group is growing more and more by the day, Im happy to see that because so many wives/fiances/and girlfriends are clueless when it comes the military lifestyle. Not knowing what to expect and not knowing about deployments, bootcamp, duty stations, etc. I want this to be the place you all recommend because so many people on this site are knowledgeable and very helpful. Once again thanks for joining my group and i hope you get all the information you need. I dont get to log on as much as i used to but i try my best to get on here. Meeting them in port is chancy, as they can't release the ship's movements because of OPSEC. Usually you can get official information through the FRG and the ombudsman, and coordinate that way.

If you are going to visit a sailor who is stationed overseas, a lot will depend on the region, their command, and their rank.

Comment by autibug on July 31, 2017 at 1:04pm: I traveled over seas last year to see my husband while deployed. From what I had to do it wasn't just something you go do. He had have permission from his command and I had to send any and all documentation of who I was and they did a mini back ground check on me. Also there were others deployed to the same place and there command didn't allow visitors during deployment. Where my husband he couldn't leave the base and I couldn't stay in his barracks obviously so we had to arrange for both of us to stay in a hotel on base. He was allowed to take some leave while I was there but we still had to stay on base the whole time and he did work some of the days. Not all places require you stay on base at all times but here they did. So a lot of it depends on where he is and if his command will allow visitors. Each base and even the different commands on that base may have different rules. I would say it is best to have your SO talk to his command and see if and what they allow.
