For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

When my boyfriend was in BC he was able to write before bed or whenever he had down time but he just couldn't send the letters until Sundays. The rules must have changed?

Nicole_66 its okay we are all new to this. We all should just keep in mind that some people will complain, not saying you. I am so new to this and have three girlfriends who's husbands have been through BC already. They gave me the heads up and told me what NOT to put here, what to write, what not to write, stuff like that. My husband just left the 25th so I only know because of friends. :)

Um yeah I wasn't going to complain to my boyfriend at all, I was seriously just curious about when they're allowed to write because I've heard different things from numerous people. I would never complain to my boyfriend about it at all, I know he's busy and that's not what he needs, he needs my support. I'll be more careful next time but it was a genuine question not a complaint. But thanks for the advice!

Anti M is completely right. Be extremely cautious here, seriously because a mom or wife will write to their spouse or son and complain why they aren't writing to them every night like the others. Then the recruit might lose focus and screw up, which then comes down on all of us here. If your recruit does something you know probably is not "correct" DON'T POST IT! Anti M was correct, they will come down on them HARD!

They are only allowed to write on Sundays, unless the RDC gives them permission other days. Early on, they have more time than as boot camp progresses. A few sneak writing in after lights out. If they are caught the entire division can be punished. Recommended you don't post about it. Not that you have to delete comments or anything, just be careful, this is an open forum, and yes, stuff can get back to the RDCs. You post it, someone else sees it and comments on it to another mom or SR (so and so writes every night, why don't you?), that SR bitches to another SR, and bam! the RDC hears about someone writing letters at night. Might not even know who, but they come down hard on them. Other groups are worse about it than this one. Welcome to the "small world" of the Navy. Sometimes this is good, other times, everyone knows your business.
