Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I suggest downloading the application for housing from the Lincoln housing website and filling it out what you can of the application, now. Then finish it once you get the hard copy orders and fax it in the day you get hard copies.

There's a program called HEAT. It's an early application for housing. You can start the process of filing out paperwork and talk to the housing department before getting hard copies and turning in hard copy orders. Here's a link to info on it. http://www.mccsmiramar.com/pdfs/Relocation-HEAT-flier.pdf I got emails back from people pretty quickly. Everything falls together faster than you would think. I was worried too; try not to stress. They'll give you a checklist to follow once he gets his orders.

My husband is in P-Cola. Finally received verbal orders, but he graduates on Feb. 25. I know my hands are tied until hard copies but I feel overwhelmed because my hubby said he may get his hard copies 4 days before graduation which prolongs us getting on the waiting list for housing. Anyone have any suggestions on what I should be doing right now because I am FREAKED out about moving and all that good stuff.

if i move with my husband after BESS do we qualify to deduct our moving experiences since we were married after he got his orders at RTC to go to BESS and his A-School? yes i know that since we were married after he got his orders the government will Not pay to move me to him but can we fill out the 3903 form for tax deductions?
