Thanks! That's good to hear! I'll relay the info onto him. I know this is tough on my cousin, but I'm hoping he'll be able to find his footing and stick with it. :)

Stephanie,  I can't speak from personal experience but from what my husband tells me, Nuke A School & Power School were the worst parts of the nuke training.  He pretty much described it as borderline torture, so I can understand what your cousin must be going through.  However, all in all it's not that long until it will be over and he'll be off to Prototype.  Prototype isn't exactly FUN per-se, but it is however a lot easier than the former.   Ship life is better than prototype too, especially once the sailor qualifies rx operator.  Hopefully he can hang in there and stick with it!  transferring is a HUGE pain in the butt from what I've heard, and once the sailor commits to that the Navy can stick them wherever they need him, which could be something he really doesn't like.

Had my husband's send off party yesterday.  We had so many wonderful family and friends come to wish him well before he leaves for boot camp next week.

The only answer ive ever gotten to that question is that the military runs on its own time its always a waiting game. most people dont have that problem with getting their things moved i dont think. we just got lucky!

i know that they are in shortage right now. he shouldnt have any trouble at all. Another great thing about the rate is that most go shore duty first so you actually have time to get used to military life before any deployments. Good luck though! If you need anything message me!

yes they did pay for our move. They actually moved all of our stuff for us it took about a month to get it here. and then they also give you a dislocation allowance afterwards. He was supposed to leave june 18, 2013 but ended up leaving in april. he waited less than a month, the only bad was we had less than 3 days of warning before he left when they called. and yes he was in south carolina. when he got done there we did have to pay $35 dollars to change his plane ticket to indiana, but thats all we paid for.

And there is a good chance he'll get called up early for boot camp since it is such a small rate. But you'll see it as a blesing when he comes home if it does happen :)

Yea its pretty easy. We are stationed at ft belvior Virginia, weve been here since september, he is blue side. Generally you only go green if you are a reservist or if you request to go green. Most active duty is blue.

Oh and 1 more thing... sorry... school is 7 weeks. My husband said its a breeze, he didnt even think they needed the full 7 weeks because most of the time was spent just waiting on their orders to come in :) sorry it took three comments to get your entire answer!
