I'm a Navy Wife and I created this group back when I was a girlfriend and my now husband had gone to bootcamp. Its funny because i joined this website when they had under 50 members. This website has been sooooo helpful and I met so many people on here that gave great advice. I made this group so that we could all come together and give eachother advice and share ideas. I see that this group is growing more and more by the day, Im happy to see that because so many wives/fiances/and girlfriends are clueless when it comes the military lifestyle. Not knowing what to expect and not knowing about deployments, bootcamp, duty stations, etc. I want this to be the place you all recommend because so many people on this site are knowledgeable and very helpful. Once again thanks for joining my group and i hope you get all the information you need. I dont get to log on as much as i used to but i try my best to get on here. So if u have any questions feel free to make a discussion topic and Im positive that it will get answered if not, inbox me :-) Take Care ♥

Sara, yes, I was in the hospital.  I was online at the time since they had wifi.  Just not a lot.  Right now we are in NM, to deliver stuff from my dad's place to my brother's widow (make your men get colonoscopies at age 50!!!). We are staying at a quiet little place for a few days, and I am healing up nicely. I only get online once or twice a day for now.

You can get good deals on used things around base, because some folks sell rather than ship their stuff. The NEX has good deals and can finance.  Fleet and Family Services may have a lending closet for stuff you need right away (or Navy Relief sometimes).  (the commissary is the supermarket)

Kiara, We have links to website that can get you housing numbers. Each rank and family size depend on your wait. Their maybe a 6-8 month wait or a 1-2 week wait.

Kimberley,

Definitely by a washer and dryer. Good thing is check the Commissary and craigs list they normally have tons of posting for cheap ones. Also, if the military moves you and they break it, umm hello new washer and dryer!

Also, craigslist great resource near base for cheap furniture ( couches, lamps, end tables, coffee tables, head boards, dinner tables).

Oh yea ladies if you havent already spray ALL your letters with your perfume. My SR said when he reads my letters and smell my perfume its like I'm there talking to him  AND for a second he forgets hes at bootcamp aww.. they really do smell it and keep it near their beds at night.

girls about your mail. my parents always stop our mail when we go on vacation. so maybe early tomorrow morning you could call your post office and ask them to hold your mail there for the day then go and pick it up before you leave.

hiiiii!

ANTI M! are you around? I read you were in the hospital?!

Well if you are around, i was wondering if military housing is usually furnished? I've looked all over the website about the military installation we'll hopefully be applying to stay in but I can't find if it's furnished. ?!

They don't call once a week.  My SR left March 14 and my first call was april 5th, then he called the 10th and the 21st and will get one after battle stations prob tuesday.  The call on the 10th was just luck. but sometimes they earn phone calls for different things!  Hang in there, the two months flies by!!
