My son is in A-school in GL. He is on the Essex. They were told leave chits have to be submitted prior to 11/25/09. All paperwork for leave (LES stmt, travel itinerary) had to be submitted by then too. Also, they have to take entire leave or none. They have to leave base on 12/18 and they are not allowed to come back to base before 1/3/09 at 7 AM.

JulieR., I heard that most of the ships will be on stand down. So that those sailors not leaving for the whole two weeks will be moved into one place. Your daughter should check on that by Dec.1st. That is when thay can offical request thier leave time. ~ Vicky

Lol, I was told spelling errors don't count on the "net'. Anyway I am counting down the days until Christmas leave/stand down. I hope all of our sailors get off the base safely and get to where they are going safely. My sailor daughter, Chrissy has to catch a plane. So I am prying there is no backlog in checking, no storm (Blizzard) and the she gets on that plane on time! Navy huggs to all, Vicky
