Yes, Christmas stand down @ GL is 3 am Dec. 18th - 30 days & 12 hours!
Chrissy says about 5,000 sailors will be trying to leave the base all at once. And she hopes there is not a blizzrad.

Let go of your child that is what u do - mom4 sons! I know- easier said then done. He is an adult now and needs to learn to take care of himself. You raised him right, you want him to be a responsible adult. He has a good job in the Navy, so let him book his own tickets. My daughter booked her own tickets!

Changeable tickets are better than refundable tickets. They are not higher priced like refundable. You only have to pay an extra fee if your plans change. My sailor thinks all A-schoolers will get Christmas leave and has already booked her flight for Dec. 18th! But she said it won't be officially approved until after Dec. 1st. ~ Vicky

Hi Cindy and Jill,
I talked to Chrissy about Christmas today also. She wants to get leave and come to CA to see her son, but she said that the Christmas leave is not approved until sometime after Dec.1st. If you live more than 300 miles from the base, they have to get leave to go see you. Leave is different then Liberty. Yes, things can change so I wouldn't count on it until you know for sure. Hi GL A-school Moms,
So far Chrissy says that her A school is easy. I said "Good", she said " I am bored." Lol.

Hi GL A-school Moms,
Chrissy has tests today to get to Phase 2. Then she will be starting A school next week. How are everyone else's kids doing?

Hi all,
My daughter Chrissy's PIR was 8/21. She is on hold at GL for A school, doing indoctrination. Then she will be going to AECF for A school at GL.

Hi everyone, it's been awhile since I posted on here. My good news is that after a 65-day hold, Michael classed up for GM A school last Wednesday and is doing well. He says he likes the new pilot program and is looking forward to getting on with his Navy career. I'm so excited and happy for him.
Have a great weekend all.... BIG HUGS

Good morning everyone! I haven't been on this forum for awhile, but for those of you who don't know, I am the grandmother of a Navy Sailor who is in GL training to become a GM. His PIR was 01-09-09 and he just finished ATT school Sunday. He is now on hold for A school.
Regina, what ship is your son assigned to? Just curious because my grandson (USS Porter) also has a roommate who is married with children. It would be great if they were roommates.
HAGD all!
