Hi Susie - Yes I have joined the GM group and am active in it. My G-son, Michael, has finished his "night" classes but I don't know if those are the first two class sections for GM. He is on the USS Porter waiting to be classed up for A School. Thank you so much for your comment. Vee

Hi everyone, my grandson graduated BC in January and is on the "school side" on hold like a lot of others. He is working on his GM rating. I will be grateful for any and all information you all are able to pass along. Thanks in advance.

You will never experience a greaduation like his PIR but our son just graduationed from A school in GL and we did attend, mostly because we had not seen our son in eight months. There were about 20 in the class graduating and the same day there was a re-enlistment ceremony and a frocking that took place so it may have lasted an hour - which is long for most of the ceremonies. They were very welcoming to the families and gave each of us a certificate of appreciation and said a few nice words about the support that we provide to our sailors.

It appears we have a group for just about every rate now!!! Just go to Groups and search for the rate that you are looking for. If you do not see yours - start a new group and they will come!
