No! I'm a bad mom but we talk every day or two. He's doing great in A school. Just called and took three tests today and got Bs on all of them. He's gonna be in GL for four more months so I might slip up and see him...13 hour trip!

Marjie - so good to hear from you! Wow Hawaii, how nice for Aaron - is he being assigned to a ship? We still have four months of A school and then C school so no orders for us for a long while.

Oh yea! Puppy love Linda! What a nice way for Justin to come home!

Linda, looks like you got some great photos of Justin! When does he get home? I know you will be delighted to have one of the boys around.

Melissa, it will be nice for him to have family at his next duty station. Who knows when Nick will be home!!! He will be graduating the week before Thanksgiving so I would think he will be getting his leave then but it really will depend on when his C school is and where it is at. They typically don't have classes during Christmas so they may rush him over to C school after graduation and then give him leave at Christmas. Either way, we will be delighted to just see him...it's been a long time since April!

It makes it a tad hard to make any plans for the holidays but I'm thinking the last thing that the Navy is worried about is MY holiday plans!!! lol

Mary, my neice and her husband met and married while in "A" school in San Diego and both were Sonar Tech's!! Anyway, they both were stationed in VA and he did 1 deployment to the Gulf and she never went anywhere! At least if Matt goes to VA he will have a cousin to tell him what it's like. Will Nick be home for Thanksgiving??? I know it's a silly question!! But it could happen!!

VA certainly is not as exciting as SD but if he gets orders to a ship, he probably won't be sitting in VA much anyways!! Then seeing the world becomes reality!
Comment by Melissa (Tucson) on July 11, 2008 at 9:34am
Matt graduated from "A" school 7/9/08 for Sonar Tech in San Diego. He'll be home at the end of this month for 10 days and then back to San Diego for "ops" until the end of September and then he's pretty sure he'll get orders for VA, which he isn't real excited about, but I keep reminding him "Join the Navy, see the world"! He likes San Diego a lot and it's only 6 hours from us.
