Does anyone have a sailor in A-school for ITS or has completed ITS training? The training is longer than most rates. I have heard it is challenging. Just wondering if anyone has some inside information. Thank you.

Playbook,
My son is ITS and completed F school in Feb. He is now in Kings Bay on a boomer. It is truly a crazy ride. My new motto is, put your Gumby pants on and be flexible! For ITS, it's sub school, A school, C School and F school. C school was crazy because class sizes need to be smaller so half the class went during the day, the other half at night. My son got night. Because of so many 'graduations' we went to the C school one. The breakdown is like this. If they pass A school they are IT, if they pass C School they are ITS. Hope this helps.
My apologies for not replying earlier...thank you both for the information. That is very good to know. My son had an opportunity to switch to that rate, but has since decided its in his best interest to stay with his rate for now. He had an A+ Network Security certification before going into the Navy but ITS wasn't available at the time he went in. He's happy with what he is doing and will finally finish A school in September. I wish your sons the very best! Go Navy!
My son is ITS. Just graduated C school and starts F school this friday. They get their CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Administrator) and A+ Network Security certifications along with a mess of Microsoft Server training. There certifications are the same as you get "on the outside". My understanding is that F school is SUBLAN where they learn and practice on system particular to submarines not just computers in general.
