Hi everyone. My SR is graduating from BC on June 6. I've been thinking about what to get him for graduation and saw something online about a St. Michaels medal for his dog tags. Does anyone know if this is allowed? If so, does anyone know the specifications about size they are allowed to have or anything like that? Also, does anyone have any other ideas for gifts? Thanks!

Hi Mackenzie33! I don't know how much you want to spend. but when my son graduated we gave him a Navy ring. We bought it from Jostens. They have a great selection of stuff to put on it so you can make as special as you want. My son was overjoyed at our gift because it was so special to him. And that's saying a lot for him because he's not that big into jewelry. But he wears it all the time and he says he gets a lot of complements on it.

Congratulations and best of luck to your sailor!!

My son graduated from A School on the 29th. We will be going to him .....I can't wait!! So proud of him!!!

Hi Mackenzie33,
My son graduated BC in April and we got him a wrist watch with a navy emblem on the face; very military looking. Around $40 online. I like the idea of the navy ring for "A" school graduation!

Mackenzie33, the St. Michael's medal would be awesome! If you can ask your Priest to bless it for you!!!

Yes, they do allow them to wear one as long as it is a religious item or symbol of their faith.

The watches have to be the ones with the black bands, cloth, plastic or other material.  No Gold as only officers wear those.

We got our Son who graduated 6/7/13, almost a year ago, some Challenge Coins, they also have St. Michael the ArchAngel on them.  Check them out on this website N4Ms or google it.  They have so many.  I gave him two and his brother gave him two.  It's a tradition in the Navy as well.

Congratulations on your new Sailor!!! HOOYAH!!! God bless him and yours and please thank your Sailor for his Service!!! :)

Thanks everyone for your help and encouragement!
