Who does he bank with? IF it is navy fed he can get cash at the bank right outside of base. You could wire him money thru western union. Ummm you can do express mail. It take 3-5 days to get to a street address not sure if you are sending it to the FPO address or not. The FPO address is going to take longer.

we prefer off base 100% for a bunch of different reasons. Our house compared to what we could have gotten on base is like 100 times better lol. Plus if you are smart you can make money off the utility allowance. We pocket about 500 a month just from that. The only bad thing about look for a house off base is sometimes it can take a really long time. It took us 3 weeks to get into the house we wanted and not everyone can afford to stay in a hotel that long.

You can send it in a brown box just make sure you insure it and send it priority mail. That is VERY important. Eletronic items tend to go missing if they get opened by customs.

Hi Shelbysmom!!  And everyone else!! It's a beautiful sunny morning here in Northern NY, it so nice to have all of the snow gone & the sun to be out. I say we all start "Guam Funds" & plan a N4M's reunion there & party it up!! It's sounds like our kids are enjoying themselves, so we should too!

My son finally met up w/ his friend from back home who is also in the Navy & he is showing Devin the life in Guam. He is loving it. He's been snorkeling, sightseeing, & golfing. He says that everyone is very nice & helpful.

I am adjusting well w/having him gone.  Thank God I have his 16 yr old sister to keep me busy. My hardest time seems to be in the mornings when I first get up & sitting here having my coffee. That's when the tears come....I miss him so much!!  He is very good about calling & sending me messages, that helps alot.

Shelbysmom---where in Cali are you? We live in Northern NY, on the St. Lawrace river. A beautiful town called Cape Vincent. Canada is right across the river, we can see it. The St. Lawrance River connects the Atlantic Ocean to the Great Lakes so we are able to watch the ships pass through. We love it here!:)

Have a great day everyone!

Hi Devins mom and guam moms,  I wish we would have been able to go with her to the boarding gate.  The security guard was a real jerk, he got a little nicer when he saw us crying but he wouldn't let us through and he was hurrying us out of the way.  I think Shelby is really enjoying Guam now.  She posts pics of her on the beach.  I am so Jealous.  I am glad the same is true for your son.  As long as their happy, right?  We are from California, U?

About holidays- in fact, the biggest dilemma they might have is which house/ event to go to FIRST and how to not eat too much before the next house!
Comment by luvinmatt on April 1, 2011 at 6:22pm
@ Gerry they sure do know how to party over here. Holidays are no joke. Everyone gets into the spirit whether they are bbqing on the beach or doing a sit down dinner at home.

The only way he will be alone is if he wants to be. Between the commands, friends, and USO there are TONS of things to do around the holidays.
