Monica,

My son is a HT3 which is a E4 in Army speak.  MY hubby was in the Army so I know it better than Navy.  Not sure what his job is there, he had 3 different jobs while on board ship.  He trained to be a guard before he left, so I'm assuming that's what he's doing.  I sent some candy so hopefully it won't be too ruined.  This time I'm sending him truck & car mags and some Nerf guns.  Mine hasn't been on Facebook or anything in over a month.  And so far no letter :(  Course I'm going out of town today so It will probably show up tomorrow :)

He should be having fun.  I know he was excited to learn to dive.  So that's what I'm guessing he's busy doing :)

Thanks Tami

Rana,

Thanks so much!  I'm sending out a couple of boxes of just fun stuff :)  It's hard getting used to not being able to text or talk.  I know that comes with the Job:)

He's been stateside so I've gotten spoiled.

Thanks Again!

Tami

Hello to all.  My son arrived in Gitmo last month. So I joined this group to learn a little more about it.  I've only heard from him on fbook twice, once that he's there and that he is sending a letter home.  Does anyone know abou thow long it takes to get letters and boxes to them?  I'm from Oregon, so I know it will take a bit longer than the East coast.  Is there any restrictions on what we can send?  I shut off his phone because Verizion said cell service wasn't allowed in Cuba.  Thanks!

...I wonder why they'd be moving families back? They dont feel its safe? Yea that worrys me I wish my husband was already there ...the sooner he would be home...he doesnt head down til june.. I wonder if this will effect the visiting as well...He leaves next month for training...valentines day ...what a bummer..His job title on his orders says "Interrogator" so he and I are both a little anxious to find out just exactly what he will be doing...his job in the navy is an IS
