OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

That's great you will spend some time with your husband during the holidays.

I don't even have a passport yet and my husband & I travel down to Mexico to visit friends. We only go as far as Rosarito Beach. But we have our ID's and birth certificates.

Hi Teresa,
I didn't realize we are able to visit our loved ones in GTMO Bay. I was aware that it isn't a place for tourists. Was told it was not the best area to go and visit my son. My son's ship will be there on deployment. It would have been great to plan a trip to Guantanamo duriing the time he will be there.

Oh, what is there to do out there? All I know is that there is a McD's & Subway on base and a Navy Lodge.

Oh yeah, I love viewing Google Earth! It's great and you can view almost any area of the globe. Some residential areas you can actually view their front door as if you were standing directly in front of their home out in the middle of the street. Just type in any address but some gives an overhead view of area.
