Well good morning ladies, hope are all well your way. Good here the sun is shining and it is going to be warm too. The wind is blowing and is a little chilly when it blows but that is okay too. Gonna be a crappy weekend here in PA though, rain again tomorrow. We are itching to get our camper out and get it ready to go up to our campsite next weekend. We are going to take it up on Good Friday but we are not staying the weekend. I wish we could but it is Easter and we have a lot going on that weekend as well and as usual. My best friend is having her sons b-day party at the movies and we won't be able to go, because Mia has a soccer game at 11 and unless it is cancelled AGAIN, the movie starts at 1230 and her game won't be over until 12 and it is a 1/2 drive to get where we need to go. So, and my family decided to have our Easter on Saturday instead of Sunday because some of them have other places to go and it would be easier for them and then they won't have to rush around all day. Well I hope you guys all have  a good day.

Thank you Michelle and Dorothee.

I don't know about your sons but mine is skinny enough and he couldn't afford to lose 20lbs. Maybe I should go on the ship instead of him just so I could lose weight, LOL, I am the one who needs it not him, LOL.

So glad you got to talk to yours as well Michelle and they made it safe to their port too.

Dorothee, I am very happy. I will be in school for I am taking some summer classes but it is only 2 days a week, so that won't be too bad. It is during the day as well. But I will enjoy him the rest of the time. I will probably have a picnic for him too like always so everyone else can have a chance to spend time with him and see him too. Plus his birthday isn't until August 4 but maybe have cake early for him because he won't be here for his birthday. See already planning here and it is only April. I just wish the other one could come home but he can't leave Japan. He said that they are only letting civilians leave right now, at least at his base. Plus he said he won't hav enough time saved up either. So I won't probably see him until next year sometime. I get to see him on skype though so that will be okay for a while.

Well gotta get ready for school now, have a great day ladies.

Oh yes Dorothee I got your pm and yes we will have to meet once I get down there.

That's great, Marcy! Wow, a whole hour... I can't remember the last time I talked to my son for a whole hour, on the phone or even in person, ha ha.
Perhaps I'll get to meet you both sometime, that would be awesome. And I'll pm you with contact info, if your son has any questions or needs something, I'd be glad to help.
Great news that he'll be spending time at home with you in June!! I bet you can't wait : )

WOO HOO I talked to my sailor lastnight for an hour. To talk to him that long is a blessing because he is a man of few words. I am just so happy he is doing good and liked being out on the ship. His baby sister asked him if he got sea sick, he just laughed and so no. He said he enjoyed do all that stuff they did with the other ships and subs too. I just wanted to listen to him talk because it seems like it has been forever since I heard his voice. I am so happy that he will be able to come home in June too. Now I really have something to look forward to.

Michelle, my nephew is going to go to the Navy as well, so he maybe in Chicago in the middle of winter. I told him that is one place you don't want to be in the winter but he may have no choice. October was cold I can't imagine Dec, Jan, or Feb. there BRRRR!!!! I am so proud of all of boys. My nephew is a senior this year in school.

Michelle, I like your profile picture, it is really nice. Keep it. I need some new ones of my boys too, if I ever get them home again.

I am hoping when they, Port Royal, are to go out to sea that my son gets to come home for awhile. He said if it is more than a week he will be but a week just isn't worth it. I can see what he is saying but momma really needs him home and to hug him. I did talk to my Airman yesterday for a few minutes on skype. He was getting ready for work and meeting some guys for breakfast too. It is funny because it was 530pm our time and 630 am his time. Gotta get use to those time things. I have one 13 hours ahead of me and one 6 hours behind me and then when the time change comes in the fall, one is 14 hours ahead and one is 5 hours behind. No wonder I am confused sometimes, LOL.

I hope if and when I do get to Hawaii, I can maybe get to meet some of you. That would be great.

Dorothee, adopting a sailor sounds wonderful. It is too bad that their swim got cancelled but a beer sounds great too. Does that happen often that they don't get to go into port?

Comment by Marcy on April 11, 2011 at 10:16am
Dorothee, that would be great if you would adopt him. I would at least know he is being well fed and taken care of since I can't be there. If you need some info let me know. He is a quiet kid and doesn't talk much around us. Kind of, well I don't want to say backwards but kind of, ya know what I am saying?

Oooh, the 45 days no-port-thing, I remember that! Think they get pizza with the beer?  And I remember my son all excited when they were in the Arabian Sea and they got word there was going to be "swim call" where they could jump off the ship and get 15 mins swims. They were so excited.  I emailed him the next day to see how it was and got back something like... "THEY CANCELED THE SWIM CALL HOURS BEFORE!!!!!" Bummer.

About the homeport thing - aren't both Truman and Enterprise in Norfolk? I thought I saw a news story about Enterprise leaving for deployment out of there. So aren't they both east coast? Though I know Enterprise not there right now. Truman is in dry dock now over there, will be for some time. I wish I could go back to Norfolk for another trip, had such a great visit there last month.

Nice you have your adoptee sailor to chat with. Girls do stick together in a different way, I so agree : ) Are you planning to meet her at homecoming?
