Michelle,
how's your sailor doing? Saw a news item today on navy.mil; always one of my greatest fears when my son was underway. Hope all's well with you.
Hi Everyone,
Marcy - spring must surely be on its way, can't be long now : ) Easy for me to say though when winter here is balmy compared to where you are. Things were warming up here for a few days but now there's some weather headed our way. Could be as much as hail and snow for the summits, or nothing much, haha.. we're not sure.
Early March I spent a few days visiting my sailor son and the USS Harry S. Truman, first time. Got a private tour, woo hoo! I'm still in awe. We had a great time and I'm adding pictures of our visit to my "Truman Wall". I feel that ship is part mine, having followed their recent deployment so closely. And Norfolk was awesome. I like it there, loved the old houses, the crisp (!) weather. And the people were very welcoming. Truman is in the shipyard now, will be for some time.
So much going on. Japan, the Middle East, and our sailors in the midst of all those challenges. My thoughts are with them, and with you, their families, every day.
Just wanted to tell you guys Happy St. Patty's Day.
Wow Michelle, that is amazing that your son was there to get those Americans. Well I hope for his safe return and all of his ship mates.
Pueo, thank you. How is it living in Hawaii. Like I said my son is down there and to talk to him you would think it is the worst place in the world. I live in Pa and we got 10 inches of snow the other day and now it is raining. The weather is crazy here right now. I don't like this transition month. I will check out the other Hawaii site as well.
