Lorraine I am not from HI either.  I am from WI but my son is stationed in HI on the USS Hopper.  I was hoping to get some insight as to where to stay & the must does when we visit my son next April so I thought this would be a good place to start.  If anyone could help that would be great!

Lorraine, you can stay. I am not from HI either. I live in PA. All are welcome here too. There is another site for Hawaii, and it is says Oahu on it. You can go to that as well. That is for moms who don't live in HI. But this site is great too. It is nice to have people who live there and can give advice on things that happen down there.

I know Dorthee, that was just too funny not to share.

Welcome Voneil

I hope you guys are all having a happy and safe Labor Day weekend.

Marcy, that is really funny!!  I used it already... I just replaced "jogging" with "zumba" :))

Hi Voneil - welcome!  Though I'm afraid we've not been very active lately...

I found this saying on status shuffle on facebook tonight and thought it was too funny.

Went jogging and heard applause behind me but when I turned to see who it was, I realized it was my butt cheeks slapping together.

Next time I will ask him if he will send whatever he can. I will ask him about Saffron. I should see what other spices and herbs he could send me from there.

Daysleeper, is that a special kind of fan? Sounds like it is worth it. Glad it has cooled off here. It actually was cold here today. It has been raining a lot lately, which I am not complaining because we still some.

I heard from my Airman in Iraq tonight. He sounded good. He makes me laugh everytime I talked to him. I ask him what he has been doing and he says, "MY JOB". Okay anything else? No not realy he says. He said they have on base an Iraq Market. I asked him if they have any of those cool looking rugs. Someone sent me an email one time from Afghanastan and showed me some of the rugs and I want one like thos ones. He said if they do it might be a good B-day present for me. Now that isn't until November but I will take it no matter what. They are so beautiful. He said they have movies over there that aren't even out on DVD yet here and he can get them dirt cheap. I was soo happy to hear from him because I missed his call last Thursday because we were at Kennywood, an amusement park near here. Now if only I would here from my Sailor boy. I am sure I will one of these days.

well i hope you guys are all having a good day.

I have a prayer request. There's a lady I've known forever. She's very sick. On top of that, she's being abused by those she has given everything to. Lies about her abound and seem to come from all sides. Just breaks my heart. Seems there's nothing I can do alone. But maybe, if we join in and lift her up, we can help. She's well over 200 years old, but way too young to die. Her name is AMERICA... and I love her Yes, America the beautiful
