Good idea about the friends request - I'm there! You're all good friends to me already. We're on the same page, being Navy moms, aren't we. I'm thankful for N4M, and you Michelle, for starting this group :) Hey, when Marcy's sailor gets back and she visits the Islands we'll all get together, how about it? Couple days on Maui (I love Maui), and couple on Oahu. We'll have Mai Tais!! And spam musubis and poke and and and... what do you say?
Rice and potatoes.... that's bad. A mother's worst nightmare, really. Michelle... better take some nori with you to Norfolk, or anything else green. Let us know when you hear from him! I do remember the last month of my son's deployment I didn't hear from him hardly at all. Maybe because of the travels, locations, last minute stuffs? I don't know. Except when he did get back it was all good :-)
Michelle, I am glad for one you did make this group. I created a group as well, Allmoms. It is usually me and one other person talking on it now. We use to have all kinds and I don't know what happened to them all. I am about to delete if they don't come back. People join and then don't ever say anything on it. I think I have 39 people on it. I just get a little unhappy about that. I don't want to delete because i enjoy the company too.
Thanks for well wishes on the test. I hope I can repeat the B.
I know what you mean about Christmas too because I won't have either one home this year. I have been lucky and that my sailor has been able to come home for it since he left 4 yrs ago. He usually came home the week after though a couple of times. It was easier for him and a little cheaper too. Now my Airman, he was able to be home for Chistmas last year because he was in school and they shut down for it. One came home one the 4th of January and the other left on the 3rd of it. They just missed each other. ALthough when they are both back where they are suppose to be my Airman wants them to both come home at the same time if possible. I would LOVE LOVE that!!!
Dorthee, Yes I will be able to email him but not so sure about the phone calls. He said he will take his laptop with him and skype me sometimes. Oh boy the air not working that would suck big time. Glad yours is coming home soon.
Speaking of it feeling cold it only got to 70 today. It has been in the 90's so it feels cold now. It was beautiful day though. It is a nice relief too from all that hot hot weather. As long as the sun is shining I don't care how hot or cold it is though. I love this weather.
Marcy - good luck with your test! And I hear your concern about your Airman heading out. So true, is part of their jobs. Mine too when they went on deployment - just committed to doing their job.
I'm glad my sailor comes home soon. It's apparently been like an oven on the ship, 100+ degrees and air not working.. Ha, he'll likely find it cold here when he comes home!
Ah yes, Navy life. I've seen my son Christmases mostly since he joined. This will be the first summer vacation here for him in 3 years.
Crazy weather here on Oahu today. Thunderstorms since before daybreak and more to come on and off today and tomorrow. Several coworkers from the Leeward side stayed home, and it's eerie dark outside.
