OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

SWCC Training?!?
Any insight on the length of SWCC training & whether family is allowed to visit you or relocate during this time? I have heard so many different responses, my head is spinning! lol.
My husband is currently in Basic, PIR May 11th, and will be headed to Coronado after that... are they allowed time off between Basic & A-School? I have also heard conflicting answers on this.
Any help would be gratly appreciated.

I have a son also in Div 812 with PIR 5/11/12 and is SWCC. I'm also reading conflicting info regarding if he ships out immediately to Coronado or if he stays in GL for a few weeks like Seals do. Any prior SWCC family members know?

My son was pir july 2011, and had the 4 th holiday weekend with us, then left within a few weeks I think, to Coronado.

Hi! I was wondering what your answer was to this question? My son graduates on November 27th and is also competing for the SWCC program after basic. Did your husband get any time off after graduation or did he go straight to Coronado? Any information is appreciated!

Ok, let's see if I recall how this went... I seems like so long ago already! My husband's PIR was 5/11/12. He stayed in in Great Lakes for about 2 weeks. If I remember correctly, it was during this "down time" at GL that he was able to take leave for 5 days. He came home then returned to GL. At the beginning of June, he arrived in Coronado. His SWCC Indoc began at the end of that same month. From then on it was go, go, go... training and more training! Best of luck to your sailor! It is a very challenging process but worth it in the end!

Does anyone know what happens after SWCC training?
I'm pretty sure the pinning/graduation ceremony is after the CQT phase, but I've also read that there are two additional phases: IAT in San Diego and advanced training in Mississippi.
I'm wondering at what point they're assigned to their team and get their orders because my boyfriend will be moving in with me at that point. Is it between CQT and IAT? Or not till the very end? Do they get leave between phases?
There's so much conflicting info out there; it's hard to keep track!

Yes, pinning/graduation is after CQT. By the time my husband was pinned he already knew which team he was headed to. There are additional phases afterwards but it greatly depends on funding. Right after graduation he attended language school in Coronado, then went to his team. Before going to their team they get leave. They just have to arrive at their command by a specified date. Once at his team he got "trooped up" and then went through SCS in MS a couple of months later. Hope this helps!

Also we're not married yet — are we going to have to jump through a bunch of hoops for him to get approval to live with me? Background checks and lots of paperwork and stuff? I assume so but I'm just trying to prepare myself.

Once he's at his team, he's pretty much free to live wherever he wants. Most of the single guys I know room together & split the living expenses.
