For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Low on Cash? Need a nice, cheap place to stay in San Antonio?
Hey all,
I just wanted to pass this along to you guys. I usually get young Navy families on my website and they are at a loss on how to stretch their money so they can visit their sailor in San Antonio.
Well, normally I like to stay at 4 and 5 star hotels just because. However, this last trip I wanted to prove to myself that these young couple can get a nice place to stay without killing their bank account.
Here's the deal...
There use to be a Air Force Base in San Antonio called Kelly AFB. It is now been converted to civilian use. What people don't know is they kept the lodging there under the Air Force still intact. The Air Force runs the lodging. What does this mean? It means you can get a clean hotel for a really cheap price. It's doesn't have a pool or any of the other things other hotels have, but it is clean, safe, and just a great place to lay your head to sleep....
I remember when I was young, all I wanted was something clean, cheap, & safe. I wanted to spend the money I saved on other things. So, if you don't have much money to spend, or, you just want a cheap place to stay, then the Kelly Inn is the place.
You do not need an Military ID card to stay there. Any civilian can stay, if they have rooms. You don't need an ID card to get on base, because, it's not a base anymore.
The only thing you need to remember is you call the AFLodge 1-888-AFLodge or 210-671-4277 and tell them you want to stay at the Kelly Inn AND you want a private bathroom. Private bathrooms means the bathroom is in your room. The other ones have bathrooms that connect to the adjoining room (and you don't want that). The price is $39 per night for the private bathroom lodging.
Here is a map of the old Kelly AFB showing where the Inn is located, and my bill from the Kelly Inn showing I paid $39.
Spend the money your saving by taking your sailor to the River Walk or something fun!
