Just thought I'd put in my two cents- My daughter has her truck with her at Ft Sam. Her NNTI (is that what they're called) said it was okay. We live in the Dallas/Ft. Worth so we brought it to her before I went back to school a few weeks ago. She was in phase 2 when we brought it. She said she couldn't have it in phase 1.

UFQ202- How did you arrange staying on base? We were admiring the old hospital when were there and think it would be a hoot to stay there!!

UFQ202, Thanks again for that info.  What can you tell me about clinicals? Does this happen during that last part of A school? Why would your son's chief send his group back to phase 1 now? Any info is very helpful! Hoping to visit in late Oct... If my sailors classes started on 8/17, when would you think grad. would happen?

My son got there July 23 and started class on Aug 3. He will either graduate Nov 1 or the 15th. Just depends on if they have to do two weeks of clinical. The kids that are in trouble have to go to Captain's Mast and most likely will be sent into the fleet as strikers. That means they will have to behave themselves and try for another A school. When we talked last night his class is still in phase two but the Chief may set them back to phase one. This will not cause them to  graduate later just take away their privilages. We got to see him from early in the morning until midnight but had him back earlier since he had duty. His watch was from 0400-0830. He was tired on Sunday but we still had fun. We stayed on the base in the Army hotel. Our room was in the old General's house which was over 150 years old. Next time we go to visit we are staying in the old hospital that was built around 1860. Price is about the same as places off base but nice and close to the barracks. Everyone who is going just be ready because it is really hot and humid there. We live in Dallas so expected the heat but the humidity was rough.

I'm heading down this weekend too Papercrafter! I sooooooo can't wait. I need the break and I need to see my Sailor!!!!

UFQ202 - Thanks for the information.. So, would the entire class get pushed back if some shipmates get into trouble? How long did you get to spend with your sailor over the weekend? Also, how long has he been there so far? Thx!

Just saw my son at Corps school this weekend. Some things I found out are

1) no cars allowed unless they have come from the fleet. 2) they can be pushed back in their phases. My son's class went from phase 2 back to phase 1 today because some of his shipmates got in trouble over the weekend. 3)The base is under construction so it is very confusing. Make sure everyone in the car has a picture ID to get onto the base.

Welcome Ladies, The phases usually start once they class up. It depends on the chief and the class. Ususally phase 2 once they class up, then phase 3 after EMT training. Hope this helps.

 

I get to go visit my sailor this weekend. I am super excited.

My son also graduated 8/19. So I'm new here too and could use all the help I can get.

My daughter graduates Sept. 16 and will be leaving to go to TX on the 17th.
