Welcome Singlelady!

First off, don't stress over it.  Some moms recently have brought this up, but please know it's not been a tradition to give a graduation gift to a corpsman finishing A school. It's hard to adjust to, but this is the military, not college, and the tone is decidedly different and professional.  For something to commemorate graduation, a coin would be nice.  There are a variety of corpsman coins available online very reasonably and would give a start as they collect their own command coins during their career.

After graduation, the sailors' focus is on getting on to their next phase of training or first duty station.  Regarding stethoscopes - your sailor may not need one for a while, if at all; depends on the job.  Ask a corpsman and they will likely say, Let me get there and I'll tell you what I need!    And though it doesn't sound sentimental, your corpsman likely would be happiest with a gift card from the NEX (Navy Exchange) because they need things for their barracks right away.

thank you...i've been worried about this and you have settled my worry!  i like the coin idea but like the NEX idea even better...thank you so much!

That's what worked for my corpsman!  :)   By the way, you'll find that the coins that really matter to sailors are their own coins that represent their command, and ones they collect by exchanging theirs with others.  So much to learn!

and where did you say i could find the coins?

Just Google "corpsman coin."  You'll see a variety and can find one you like.
