Awesome news Zach's Mom {:oD

My daughter has been out in the heat for 9 hours every day. We just got home from the little performance they do for the parents on the last night.

Now I am off to a friends house for a cool glass of wine.

Catch you all later

GREAT NEWS Zach's mom!!!

SandySea yeah my kiddo has been out in this heat this week but fortunately they have had only 4 hour days this week. This Monday is when they start doing all day practices. I am sooooo hoping for cooler weather for them but I think that's just a dream. Sigh!

Zach's mom that is great to hear that he is better now. I know it was hard for us since my son signed up 13 months before he went in. He had a lot of time to think about it but then again still being in high school and it being his senior year helped keep his mind off of it for a little bit. Just keep supporting him and keep being strong for him. He is gonna need it especially during the first 8 weeks. We are here to help support you when you need it. Keep smiling. :-)

Sanmor and medic mom--are your kids out in this heat for band camp this week? My daughter has been. They have had fainters every day. The field temp of 112 this afternoon finally forced them inside the gym. We have 24 flute players coming to our house tomorrow to paint t-shirts for their section. Marching season--gotta love it!

Glad things are going better for your son, zach's mom. You are right about too much thinking time between April and now. On the other hand, hopefully he is more physically prepared for boot camp. My son signed and was gone in 2 months. That was difficult for us and he could have used more pt time, but he didn't have any time for second guessing. Sometimes we just need to make a plan and go with it. I'm sure he will make a great corpsman and a fine sailor. Keep us updated!

zach's mom, I'm glad to hear he is feeling better about his decision.  You will just need to stay positive, and even when he does leave, you will need to become a ROCK! Start looking for encouraging cards to send him (funny ones are some of the best), don't forget to get him a calling card!  And don't forget that we are here to help you through this new adventure!

Hello ladies, I just wanted to give an update, my future sailor is ok with his feelings now about leaving. His recuritor came to take him out to lunch and they had a very long talk. My son said he is ok with boot camp, it is the unknown afterward that scares him. She reassured him that everyone feels that way it is only natural. So wheew we are back on track now. He has had too much time to think, he was sworn in April and not leaving until September. Way too much time in between. Thank you ladies for all your support.
