My corpsman sailor will be here tonight! WOOOOHOOOO! =D We are having ThanksMas on sat. to celebrate all the Thanksgivings and Christmases that we will miss together. Then hopefully spend a couple of days in ST Louis before we send him to see his brother (my other sailor) in Bremerton, WA and then he is off to Japan.... for 3 years......sigh =/
Hello, I just wanted to introduce myself, my name is Jackie and my son's is Jacob (Jake). Jake swore the oath yesterday and leaves for Boot Camp on September 26. He is so excited and I'm a little numb. I've been reading the posts on N4M, and they are very helpful. I'm sure I will have a lot of questions in the next few months. It's nice to have people to turn to.
Fancy Nancy and Liz-you are half way. YEAH!!! The second half goes faster than the first. At PIR my son said he had not had a full night's uninterrupted sleep since he left home. I guess that teaches them that they will be exhausted and still have to perform their duties. I know I wouldn't be able to do that.
Medic Mom-so glad to hear your news about your corpsman's deployment. More time to prepare is always good.
My son finally started the last part of his A school today and will finish at the end of August, then off to Washington state. It's nice to have some idea of what will be coming next.
Fancy Nancy, I am sooo happy for you. I know I will be looking foward to my letters too. I am loving the weather here. I just wish it did not have to cool off tomorrow or the weekend. I was looking foward to a really hot weekend. lol
KB11175 My husband graduates on July 20th and heads to San Antonio after that too!
medic mom, I am happy for you, your sailor will be coming home right about the time mine graduates from b/c. I am hoping I get at least for a few days with him before his school starts. We shall see.
Thanx Angie and all for the prayers. Now I have 6 months to get used to the idea that he will be out of the country for 7 months. LOL He's still having fun at CP. Enjoying just working and hanging out there. zach'smom he won't be coming home til November or December. I will be great to see him then. It is always a joy to have my corpsman home. I was informed that he is a corpsman and not a sailor. I will always think of him as a sailor since that is what he technically is. LOL Have a great day everyone.
