Hello IL Moms! Just floated in from Pensacola. Yes, the torrential rain changed our plans, but that is part of "going with the flow" that I am trying to learn through my experiences with the USN. Actually, did you all see the real reason for the P'cola flooding on the news? " Navy Mom Cries When She Has to Part With Sailor Son Again--Flash Flooding Ensues."
Hope you all are doing well.
VFW Update, Due to legal, insurance, and health dept. regulations, all work right now needs to be done by a licensed restoration company. If they need help with the "finishing touches", they will contact us for help. Stay tuned............
Thanks, Laura that helps to know.
@Zach's mom - On the advice of another mom, hubby took a photo of my son and I hugging eachother prior to his deployment.
That photo, and the memories it evokes, will get me through his long deployment. I recommend you take a hugging photo with your future sailor. It helps!
Hi Everyone, I have addresses for 2 of the injured in the VFW fire. If you would like to end a card, please PM me for the info. Thanks, Pat
My future sailor came to see me at work today. Every once in awhile he would pop in just to say hi and give me a big hug to say I love you mom. I am going to miss those pop in visits when he leaves.
Hi gals....I Like Carol have TBS....that is why it has taken me so long to get on the computer. Got back on Monday from our trip to DC to see our Corpsman sailor before he heads to Japan for 3 years...We went and got some of his things that he doesn't want to take with him to Japan or on his 30 day leave back to our hometown to see friends...He said he would come here for few days too. I am hoping that my other sailor will be aable to take a "96" and come here at the same time...we haven't been together as a family in 2 1/2 years It was a very moving time to be in DC since it was Memorial weekend.
Barb....It took us about 12 hours to get to DC from here....we only stopped for gas, pee break and eat on the road.....Norfolk is about another 3 hours from DC but a differnet route may take less time to head to Norfolk.
Medicmom....We are here for you! I will keep your sailor and the marines lifted in prayer for safety, protection and guidance. HUGS to you during this transitional time.
Tbears....they have accounted for the p-days and he will graduated on the date he sent you in the letter.
Carolskitchen - he said one week. I rec'd the formal letter with his graduation date. That won't effect the date on the letter will it?
Thank you Angiep. That is what I thought.
