Kimmie.... So sorry to hear your news... Hugs and prayers to you and your family...
My question is this: is your sailor in BC or in Coronado for SWCC??? If he is in BC I would hold off... if your dad passes then call the red cross and they will notify a chaplin at BC to tell him......I think they have the # listed on the RTC site under families.....If he is in Coronado... if it is possible....wait for the weekend as they don't usally train on the weekends... and let him know then...he can then make the decision of what he wants to do. Ultimately do what your mom's heart is telling you and what you know your son would want.
Kimme
--first, my prayers are with you and your Dad.
Secondly, if you can wait, do so. There is nothing he can do from bootcamp unless the situation worsens. At that time you can talk with someone like from your church to ask for support and decide if you need to have your recruiter give you Red Cross information. It would not hurt to double check with your recruiter now as to how this could be handled in all situations.
My heart goes out to you. Carol
Hey Moms, I have a dilemma brewing and need to hear other peoples opinions. My dad is 85 years old and in poor health, got sent to the hospital last night, things don't look too good. Here is my problem, my son is in SWCC training and I don't think that I should tell him if anything happens with my dad. I don't want the kid distracted or heart broken if there is bad news. Do I tell him about his grandpa or do I wait until he is done with BCT? I'm not sure what to do!
congradulations that is awsome.
Hello all. Sorry that I didn't respond to a meet & greet date earlier. My sailor is finishing up "C" school, getting ready meet up with the USS Enterprise (alreadt at sea) and deal with his SUV being totaled by a friend.
Anyhow, the younger son makes his Confirmation on 4-14.
Can we schedule a Northern meet & greet for April 21st in the Schaumburg-ish area? Who is interested?
Congrats Sandysea... Bravo Zula to your Sailor..
We have a Sailor! I am grinning like an idiot and can not stop! Relieved that boot camp is nearly over. Now onto the next phase of Navy life...........
