Our 30th Anniversary celebration dinner with 4 sailors. We were between Norfolk and Virginia Beach before departing for 2 days by ourselves.  So much fun!

Leysa, My daughter graduated from SA Corschool Dec. 16.  We were on the plane, on the way to her graduation when we found out for sure that she would graduate. She struggled academically at first. She failed her 2nd test 2X, and was removed from her class and put back in a newer class. She thought it was the end of the world, and she would have an occupation of scrubbing the 'poop deck' for 4 years. Several others from her class were also 'put back'. Everything turned out fine. Everyone was there to make sure she was successful. She ended up on the Dean's List. There were only a few parents there for graduation, because most of the sailors left for home or their next base immediately. My daughter had nothing but the best to say about the knowledge and compassion of all the instructors there.

Leyasmom-my son is set to graduate from SA on tuesday. He has had a ton of fun there. He goes to Camp Pendelton next. He gets to be a field medic. I am terrified of that but he is over the moon happy. Just keep reminding him to study hard. That way he can get a good pick for orders. Also tell him to pick early also. Don't wait for last minute.

Hi Becky,
I have a son aboard the big E as well. This will be his second long deployment and I am dreading it as well:(. I just keep sending him emails and packages until I know they are hitting port, then I stay glued to the phone awaiting his call- lol! It's hard but I am truly proud of him and it keeps me going:)

Talked to my Sailor last night. He got the kind of machinist mate that he wanted. He is a MMW or TM (torpedo man). He will be working with the torpedoes on a submarine. He is one very happy Sailor right now..
