This site is absolutely wonderful, I spend hours reading and it somehow makes me feel more connected with my daughter, I wish I had known about it when she left for BC on Nov. 1, and I found it by accident. I am from Rockford, and planning on attending Sarge's meet and greet on 1/5/12. Would love to hear from anyone who will be there at that time. Also was wondering if we should get a hotel for the whole weekend, definitely planning on it for Thur. night since we want to attend the meet and greet and we have to be there so early Fri. morning for graduation.

Jn/Jf Mom - I lived there from the 4th grade through 12th grade.  I moved away to Texas out of high school to attend college here.  That was in 1983.  I've lived in Houston ever since but I go back to Peoria quite often to visit my family that is all still there.  I attended Woodruff High School - graduated 1983.

When I went to the Meet & Greet, I walked around with a couple of signs that said, "Looking for..(the N4M name)".

It worked great since I didn't know anyones real name or what they looked like!

It was really nice to meet the moms face to face.

When did you live in Peoria?  i grew up there.  Wonder if we are long lost friends, or at least acquaintances ?!?  Friend me if you are interested in finding out.

Welcome to all your new family members....It is so exciting to hear about you all getting to meet at PIR .....Wish they would have had this site 8 yrs ago, but we survived without it and have made life long friends here...@Pentwater, I say what is wrong with push-ups. When my son was in BC for the Army I found out that he gave him a hard time, because I would decorate the envelopes of his letters so they would make him do 10 push-ups for every letter he got. Well when I found this out. I gave everyone I knew his address and asked them to write and decorate the envelope.  He thanked me later, he might have weighted less than almost everyone ( girls included ) but he was about as strong as all of them .....lol....

Everyone just remember every division is different. So can call, some can't call. Just trust that they are doing what is best for our children. After all it is all about them right. Huggs to you all ....
