I would be interested to meet on Sunday.  Saturdays are work days for me; but I get the day off if the majority would like to meet on a Saturday.

Allie,  I wrote to my son every day and he told me that the letters is what made him get through.  this time will go by fast.

I can meet in Springfield or Collinsville area on Saturday, Dec 10th or Sunday, Dec 11th. Is anyone interested in having a M&G that weekend or is it too close to Christmas?

I picked up my son from the airport this morning!!!!!!!!!  We surprised both his girlfriend and his dad.  It was great!  Now on to spoiling him.

@ Laura - Thanks so much! I'm taking it as a reason to go shopping for new winter boots. My boyfriend will understand! :)

@kcrowder - The first 2 weeks went by slowly and were extremely tough. But, I have a new routine, which includes writing to my boyfriend before I go to bed everynight, and it's making it go by much more quickly. Thankfully. Looking forward to Jan 6! :)

Hi there every one...Welcome to all the new members!!

Carol I would love to come to lunch but I am working this seasonal job thru Dec and I work every saturday....Hope you all have great time!  I am bummed though becasue I love getting together with other Navy moms!

As far as sending things to my sailors in BC..I sent a letter everyday...I would  send the funny page ofthe news paper, inspirational and spiritual quotes and verses, lyrics from positive songs.  One thing not to send is musical cards... some RDCs will make the recruits to extra PT for geting them...also try not tomake the envelopes too think other wise the make the recruits open them infront of the RDCs..... you don't want to draw any extra attention to your recruit.

ProudNavyMom....PIR is the most proud and exciting event!   I never look at friday mornings the same anymore!

Have a wonderful week everyone!

Good Morning my Navy Family... Sorry but SR is Seaman Recruit. They are not considered Sailors until they pass Battlestations 21. That is the final test of Boot Camp. My son will be doing Battlestations 21 come time this week, I think..

In addition to the regular letters I sent to my son at boot camp, I also send something a bit different.  I went to a crossword puzzle maker web site and made some crossword puzzles.

The first one I made was a funny one on all the things he may have forgotten about home.  Our street name, the dog's name, stuff like that.

He is in to music so I made a few about new music, classic rock etc, he said several recruits would gather around to try to figure out the answers. He said it was a fun break!  (I send the answer sheet stapled shut just in case he was stumped)
