Yeah! It is so wonderfully emotional and full of pride. Remind everyone going with you (yes, your hubby if you have one) that MOM gets the first hug! My hubby beat me to it--lol
2 week from today my SR will PIR!!! Can't wait!!!
Oh Sandy, I just got goosebumps. Our anniversary is Dec. 27th (and we sent him a calendar with that date marked, as it will be our 30th!) So, I am extremely happy your future sailor will be home with you for the very special dates of Thanksgiving and Christmas and Happy Anniversary!
Allie, 50 days will go by fast. Make sure you take tissues along with your winter clothes!!!! What an awesome time you will have.
Sandy, congrats on 27 years. What a nice present. I'll bet you are so very proud of your son.
Hello all. My son just got home from MEPS where he passed his physical and signed in to AV. He has a ship date of Jan 18th! Too fast for me. I will have to review all the info on here about boot camp and what to do before hand and get on it. Right now I can barely remember my name. All I can think is "he's really leaving". At least we will have the holidays together this year. What a present for our 27th anniversary today...............
Someone from Springfield needs to pick a place and date, and we'll take it from there! Think we are still ok weatherwise for another month.
Allie - Start unpacking your winter boots!
Walking from the graduation hall to the photo pick up point is about a 5 minute walk. I would anticipate everything to be shoveled buy you never know!
(Tell you recruit to order the video of the ceremony. One less line you have to stand in on graduation day.)
Got the form letter today! Looks like we will be headed north for PIR on Jan 6th!! (For those of you who are counting, that's only 50 days!! Hahahah.) Yes, I am just a little bit excited! :)
Carol, did you already have the M & G in Springfield. I am in Champaign area and would love to come meet everyone.
We are currently waiting for my son's leave dates from Hawaii. I can't wait to see him. It has been a whole year since he was able to come home.
Welcome to all new member. :)
