Allie--I'm down the road from SIU-E.  Let me know when you are through that area if you ever want to meet.  I'm an SIU-C grad.

Welcome, new members! My boyfriend left for bootcamp a week ago, just realized that I haven't checked in since. We have received the sailor in a box, but no form letter as of yet. Hoping it comes soon as I have a pile of letters just waiting to be sent!

I'm from Waterloo, IL but I travel back and forth between there and Edwardsville weekly for graduate school. :)

Stopped in the Marine recruiting office earlier this week, drumming up support for Molly's Adopt a Sailor, and our voting for a grant at http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=260320750685715.  They, too, have lots of recruits just chomping at the bit to get enlisted, but the openings are all frozen due to budgets and openings as people are re-enlisting and holding on to their jobs.

Our Navy office in Collinsville, IL, will be closed both Friday & Monday. They probably will all be in parades, etc, for Veteran's day.  Just talked to my Navy guys for 5 minutes today, and they are busy.

To all our veterans and active duty/reservists, Thank you!

Welcome all! Welcome to a new journey. There will be ups and downs. Be prepared. We are all here for you though. My journey began in July this year. My son is training to be a hospital corpsman. It has been an interesting journey so far. Please do not hesitate to ask questions or be emotional. These are great gals here. Cannot wait to meet you gals.
