I am really enjoying the communication with my sailor. Life is so much easier when I can talk to my son. I know it will change when he goes out on deployment later but, I will enjoy this while I can. It makes me so happy to hear how happy he is in Groton. Making new freinds and getting ready for A school.
Welcome Proud, Good to have you here.
Hi Ladies. I'm new to this group.. Just found it while searching in the groups. I've been on N4M's for about a month now.
My son left for boot camp on Oct 6th and is now just about at the halfway mark and will PIR on 12/02/2011. The first couple of weeks were very hard, but I received the first letters from him last Thursday (he sent 3 in one envelope!) and my first call from him yesterday. I got to talk to him for a whole 17 minutes!!!
I am married now for 7 years to a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer and I have two sons, 19 (in boot camp) and 16 (a sophomore in HS and in Naval JROTC). I also have two step daughters - one is married to a Air Force Boom Operator (living on McQuire AFB in NJ) and they have two beautiful daughters, age 1 and 3, and the other step daughter is single, graduating in December with her Masters degree. My husband, youngest son and myself live in Texas. However I was born and raised in Illinois (born in Aurora, grew up in Peoria) and my mothers and siblings still live in Peoria.
I'm looking forward to contributing in this group and hopefully making new friends along the way.
Pat - Thank you connecting with my co-worker Mary.
She said that she had a great conversation with you the other night. She is so excited to be a part of the Molly's group and to have a role in making the lives of our military better.
@Linda K - Thanks! :)
@K2011 - Best wishes! I'm having a hard enough time with my boyfriend just moving from small town Southern Illinois to Chicago for boot camp! :(
