Hi Kelly, I text Kelly yesterday. She just got to VA the other day, Friday morning actually. She said she has PT this morning and after that she has no idea. I asked her to tell me what she does because I like to know what she is doing and she said okay. I don't know when she goes to a ship. She is 21 and her younger sister is 19, her name is Heather. I have a son named Michael,  he is 24 and a graduate student at SIU. Heather goes to John A. Logan, she is going into nursing and might go into the Navy after she gets her nursing degree. My husband Rick works at Dick's and I work with Dr. Butt, he is a dentist. Have a good day. Marsha

Too funny Razen3- My name is kelly too and my sister's name is Marsha! :) and we live so close to each other funny!! So happy your daughter is doing well! I do think my daughter is going to like it. She went in undes. We have several family members in the Navy(including VA) and they all tried to tell her to not go undes, but she is 19 and was just ready to GO! But I do have to say her eyes are wide open! So will Kelly be going to a ship soon? keep in touch!

Hi K2011, My daughter is a Seabee, her name is Kelly. We are from Carbondale, so, not far from you at all. I hope your daughter likes it in the Navy. Kelly seems  to like it quite well. She went in in Feb., she was home for two weeks in August. She is in VA now.   Marsha

I live in Murphysboro, very close to Carbondale. She is undes so her a school is over next thursday and she comes home for 10 days then off to meet up with her ship! I don't know what we can put on here as far as her ship name? I am very nervous as Im sure every parent is for her 1st deployment. Its a destroyer so its smaller and about 250 sailors. Just like kindergarten when you hoped no picks on them and they make good friends fast!!:)

Hi K2011  .  Where in southern IL are you?  I'm, in Troy, close to lots of great coffee shops and restaurants in Fairview Heights.  Let me know what we can do now that your sailor is ready for A school.
