Yeah, I guess nothing is for sure until he has a plane ticket in his hands and eventually a paper with school information on it. I'm adjusting, its just hard because I'm one of those people who plans out everything usually.

Every is always different some have to hurry up and wait and some start school right when they get there....good luck on trying to figure any of it out for away...lol

Just remember No news is Good news ....they is a big transition for them and ALOT to learn which keeps them very busy . That is why social network sights like this are good so we can keep busy with each other and we don't stress them out more than they are themselves .

Hi Pat & Carol, That's great to hear that you are both Nuke moms also.  Pat, that's too bad about your sons sub breaking down.  I'd be bummed out too.  Where is he stationed at?

Jessica, I'm glad to hear that you are going to keep busy this summer.  That will take your mind off of everything and will make the time pass by faster.

Aw!!! hopefully it all works out and he comes back! I will keep my fingers crossed for you. Yeah, I'm starting to understand a little bit of this "hurry up and wait" and "always be flexible" business.

Jessica, Been doing okay considering my sailor's sub broke down and leaves may be cancelled. He was supposed to come home in 5 days. TOTALLY BUMMED!!! It isn't looking good but I'm not giving up hope until I hear for SURE!!! Such is Navy Life, my dear!!

I'm doing alright. Sometimes it seems like time is flying by and sometimes it seems like days last forever! I'm past the halfway point though, so now it's just a countdown waiting game. I am so excited, I already have my outfit ready. Oh, and I finally graduated High School on the 28th, it's nice to have that done. Now I'm just focusing on working a lot and the 6 classes I have this summer. How have you been?

Jo1, Carol and I are both "Nuke Moms" so it will be fun to follow your sailor's progress at Goose Creek.

Hi Jessica, How ya doin?

Reminder Everyone, Check out " Rockin' for the Troops" in "Events" for July 16.

Lot going on since I've been away from the computer for a week or so.  Glad everyone is doing well.  Had a quick trip to Peoria, but did not have any time to try and contact anyone by the time I saw our work schedule for annual church conference.  Did have 1 1/2 hours one day--went back to my hotel room to read, and fell sound asleep.  It was great.

To all you Goose Creek sailor families--you have a real treat when it comes to visiting your sailors.  We love Charleston--my brother and family lived there for 10 years, and it was wonderful going back to see the area when we visited our son there.

Next stop--Norfolk, VA.  After that, sew pillowcases for our deployed troops the rest of the summer while I am laid off work.

You'll also get about 8 hours with him after graduation too before they have to return to base.
