Jn/Jf Mom--there is a group for Moms who are nurses, and maybe one for Navy nurses.  You just have to spend some time cruising the groups. Also look for Hospital Corpsman.

Greetings, all....

i joined a couple weeks ago, but i thought i should introduce myself.

My name is Katie & we live in north central IL.  We have 2 kids in the NROTC program, one 2/C daughter & one 4/C son.  Both are at Marquette University in Milwaukee WI. Our other son is much younger & still at home.

I look forward to soaking up info from you all, and sharing when i can.

Question... does anyone have a son or daughter that is a Navy Nurse?  i'd sure be interested to talk to a Navy Nurse mom.

peace & joy to you all, Katie

Thank you for the offer Laura, I am overwhelmed at the responses I got for this request.  He has a place to go for the weekend now, and one of the churches that is fairly close to the base contacted him as well and is getting him hooked up with some Sailors that attend services weekly.  You are very sweet to offer!

How much liberty does he get for the Easter weekend?  We haven't finalized our plans yet but I live 40 minutes from Great Lakes & I am on and off the base all the time.  Also, hubby works there.  Our extended family may be going to Greek town.  If the timing works out I may be able to bring him along.  Let me know!

Thank you ladies!  I will pass that along to him.

Maybe if he went to the MWR on base there might be a list of people/churches that are having sailors for Easter.

A lot of the churches and civic organizers ask for adoptions.  There may be a form they have to fill out?

Moms hearts do hurt don't they?

Do any of you know of  church in the GL area that likes to adopt the Sailors for holiday weekends or just the day?  Our son is in A school there now and he could really use some sweet family to love on him Easter weekend.  He is missing us, and we can't be there for that weekend and I get the feeling from him he is really feeling alone right now.  He is in his room this weekend, all alone as most of them have left the base for the weekend and this Mama has a breaking heart for him.

Sue--got your message

Tracey--I forgot it was Court's too.  Remembered our neighbor--all three of them were in a row in April!
