So far all we "suffered" was a broken garage door spring when we had to force it open to get to work.  We've got a great garage door guy and he will be here soon to repair it.  Oh well, it is payday, right?  Haven't checked if we lost any trees yet.  The neighborhood where we used to live was on the street in above story.  Those cooks said it was terrible out there.

No power--no internet--no N4M for almost 24 hours!

We had to bus our school kids to another district school that had power.  The kids thought it was really fun.  So, I worked with the other head cook and cashier at that school and did a lot of their dishes while they were all on the line.  Day went fine--just got a call and we now have power.  I'll have to go in early and check everything in the freezers and see if anything looks like it thawed.  The manager went in and emptied out all the stuff in the coolers--it was already at 50 degrees at 6:30 AM, so had to be pitched.

HI

Glad you are having a good weekend Carol.  Share some of the fun.

 Welcome new moms.

I need to share please:

Remember when I asked for prayers - postive thoughts for a girl friend of mine - who would have the so needed surgery?  I can share more now:

1. Linda had that type of surgery 2 years ago to clmap her stomach or possible she had a portion remove. She was terrible overwieght - 400 pounds and increasing, sevel level of diabetis and would stop breathing at night.  So when the insurance company said - ok on for the extra skin to be removed - Her doctor made the date for this to happen.

2.  But problems occured during surgery.  She had more skin to remove than expected.  And she was retainging water - and that was not expected at all. I worry that this extra fuid had become toxic to her.

3. Surgery when on for more than 4 hours and two blood transfusions were needed

4. Because of the lose of blood - the doctor could only do her stomach and back area - her hips and one leg.  Still one leg is  in need of surgery.

5. The doctor told her before she left the hosptial she would have the other surgery to finish in April

6. Yesterday was her after surgery check up and she was hoping to have the 3 drain tubes removed.  She was in great spirits - and her voice was so strong and sweet - if you didn't know she had this major surgery - you would not have known at all.

She asked me to thank you all for your prayers.  As soon as I know more, I'll share

And I thank you too :)
