We FINALLY found out that my boyfriend will sign his contract on March 1st. Apparently this is when we will get the date that he will leave for bootcamp. I'm such a planner and don't do well not knowing dates and such, so this is very exciting for me! :) He's already studying away.. I'm so proud!

Thanks so much.  Although our son is applying for OCS you never know...and wanted to make sure that we saved the date for PIR just in case.  No matter what...we are proud of his decision to join the Navy and want to be there to support him.

seatheworld, Rough guess on PIR (graduation) would be July 22. As soon as you get your recruit's ship# and Div #, you can check PIR schedule on Great Lakes site for the actual date. Remember we are all here for you and there is no such thing as a dumb question, so ask away...........Pat

Thank you to everyone who is praying for our sailors deployment.  Is there anyone on here with a sailor on the Boxer, Greenbay, or Comstock?  Just curious.  Talked to him tonite and he is ready and excited!

Hello Yeomom - If you are 40 min Great Lakes then you must be in my neck of the woods.  I am in Lake Zurich.  Are you anywhere near?  Any other Illinois moms in the Naval Station Great Lakes area or Northwest suburbs?

Anchor Mom, I'm in Carlinville...midway between St louis & Springfield.

Hi Carol!  Yes I know where Troy is located!  I am less than one hour from Mt Vernon - a packing party would be awesome!  Hope to meet Becky soon!

kiimcon--I'm in Troy, on I 55/70.  Short Becky may be closer to you.  Got a Navy hubby in Carbondale.  So, yes, we are around. We had a great meeting and packing party last summer in Mt. Vernon.  May have to repeat it.

Carol
